IPC16: The Global Permaculture Convergence Coming to Thailand in 2026

The World’s Permaculture Community Is Gathering in Thailand — Are You Ready?

IPC16 — the 16th International Permaculture Convergence — is bringing global permaculture to Thailand in 2026, and the theme says it all: Beyond Sustainability – Many Paths. Once every few years the movement gathers to share knowledge, forge connections, and chart new directions for regenerative living. This November, that conversation happens across two remarkable sites in Thailand — and the call for participants, speakers, and session leaders is open now.

What to Expect

The event unfolds across ten days and two stunning locations in Thailand, blending formal learning with deeply immersive experience. It opens on November 6 at the Golden Jubilee Museum of Agriculture in Pathum Thani — a site dedicated to the Sufficiency Economy teachings of Rama the Great — with an evening celebration of Loy Krathong, the Thai festival of light, water, and gratitude. It’s a rare convergence that begins with cultural ceremony rather than a slideshow.

From there, a 2-day conference (November 7–8) brings keynote speakers including Dr. Kyle Holzhueter alongside international permaculture educators for deep-dive sessions on ecological design and sustainable systems. The heart of the event, a 5-day convergence (November 11–15), then moves to Suan Loong Choke — a Bamboo Wisdom School nestled in Wang Nam Khiao, Korat, often called the Switzerland of Thailand. This lush bamboo forest garden hosted Thailand’s national permaculture convergence back in 2016, and it’s easy to see why it was chosen again. Expect hands-on workshops, field sessions, and practical design work covering food security, water management, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods — learning by doing, in a landscape that embodies the principles being taught.

Why IPC16 Global Permaculture Thailand 2026 Matters

IPC16 is a reminder that permaculture has never been just about gardens. It’s a framework for systems thinking, community resilience, and cultural exchange at every scale. Bringing practitioners together from across the globe — experienced designers and curious newcomers alike — creates the kind of cross-pollination that moves the whole movement forward. Thailand’s rich tradition of community-rooted agriculture and the Sufficiency Economy philosophy make it a genuinely fitting host for this conversation.
