Get Hands-On with Biodynamic Preparations at Emerson College This September

For anyone serious about soil fertility and regenerative land practice, this is one of those rare events where you don’t just learn à propos something — you learn by doing it. Biodynamic preparations sit at the heart of living-soil agriculture, and this September, Emerson College opens its 22 acres of biodynamic land for an immersive two-day workshop led by one of the field’s most respected practitioners.

Led by Vincent Masson — biodynamic practitioner, educator and author — this 1.5-day workshop takes participants through the full arc of preparation work: understanding material quality, methods of storage and application, and working with seasonal and cosmic rhythms. This isn’t a slide-deck event. You’ll be outside, handling materials, observing directly, and building an embodied understanding of the farm or garden as a living organism.

The programme begins Thursday afternoon with a hands-on preparation session, continues with a free public book launch and buffet (4–6 pm) celebrating the release of Vincent’s Biodynamic Preparations Handbook, and carries through into an evening session before a full day on Friday. It’s a genuinely layered experience — practical, celebratory and community-rooted all at once.
