PermaTalks Volume 6 is coming: join a season of inspiring online permaculture lectures (Jan–Mar 2026)

Permatalks 2026

PermaGuide is excited to share that PermaTalks (PermaPuheet) Volume 6 will run January–March 2026, bringing a fresh season of online talks and dialogues from practitioners across Europe and beyond. Sessions are scheduled on Thursdays at 18:30 CET, making it easy to learn after work, connect, and ask questions live. You can already secure a season pass for the whole series.

Why are we spotlighting PermaTalks on PermaGuide? Because it aligns with our mission to turn ecological awareness into real-world action and to build community around hands-on sustainability. Live talks are a simple entry point for new learners and a practical inspiration source for advanced practitioners—exactly the kind of community-first learning PermaGuide champions.

What to expect in Volume 6

PermaTalks curates topics that translate big ideas into practical steps. A few highlights announced so far include:

  • Permaculture in Schools with Jorge Barbosa—insights from supporting Berlin schools to design and run educational gardens.
  • Permaplants – what makes a plant a permaplant? with Monika Frank—exploring plant functions, values, and how to integrate species into resilient designs. (Live on March 19, 2026.)
  • From proprietary to open source: a dive into permaculture research—an update from the Permaculture CoLab’s Digital Circle on opening up research for the commons.
  • Dialogue sessions such as “Permaculture design” and “Permaculture courses”—bringing multiple teachers together to compare methods, courses, and pathways into practice. (For example, Feb 26, 2026 for the courses dialogue.)
  • Additional speakers are appearing on the Volume 6 page, e.g., Tom Henfrey on shamanic permaculture in practice (Jan 22, 2026).

Format & access: most sessions start with a talk and continue with Q&A. A single pass covers the whole season. You can browse past volumes to get a feel for the content and see recordings of topics like food forests, beekeeping, and design frameworks.

Why this matters for the PermaGuide community

  • Low-barrier, high-impact learning. Weekly online talks are a fast way to discover tools you can apply immediately—compost workflows, school-garden tips, plant guild ideas, or community organizing practices. That’s aligned with our focus on learning by doing and peer-to-peer exchange.
  • Global perspectives, local action. Speakers share field-tested solutions from different climates and contexts—perfect fuel for your Trainings, Tours, Work & Travel, Eco Holidays, and Residencies planning. Attend a talk, then bring an idea to your local group or host site.
  • Community momentum. Shared live events create connections and accountability—two key ingredients for turning knowledge into garden beds, water systems, and resilient networks.
