PermaGuide Community Survey — Tell Us What to Build Next
PermaGuide has always been a community project first and a social business second. Every garden bed we restore, every how-to we publish, every network we spark should answer a real need voiced by you—the people who show up, dig in, and share what you learn. That’s why today we’re launching a short Content & Features Survey and asking every friend of PermaGuide to weigh in.
Your answers will set our roadmap—tell us which features and content we build first.
It truly is that simple.
What’s inside the survey?
You’ll find just four multiple-choice questions plus two optional free-text boxes—less than a minute, promise. Here’s the heart of it:
- Where should we focus first?
- Educational offers (online courses & live webinars with certificates)
- Hands-on practice (work-and-travel placements & local workshops)
- Community features (forums, groups, local networks)
- News & tutorials (articles, best practices, success stories)
- What sustainability topics excite you most? (140-character free text)
- Your current experience level (beginner, intermediate, pro)
- Which themes light you up?
Seed saving, tiny houses, composting, renewable energy at home—plus an Other field in case we missed something.
That’s it. No names, no log-ins, no trick questions. We’ll share the aggregated results later this month and let you know exactly how they translate into concrete next steps.
Why your klick matters
Research on participatory design shows that projects shaped by end-users deliver more useful, equitable solutions and keep communities engaged for the long haul. PermaGuide’s mission—Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share—means nothing if we design in a vacuum. Filling out this survey is the digital equivalent of grabbing a shovel and joining the work party.
How we’ll use the answers
Example scenarios:
- If “hands-on practice” tops the list we’ll fast-track the Work-and-Travel board and start onboarding regenerative farms immediately.
- If “online courses” wins we’ll allocate our next filming^1 weekend to the most-requested topic and line up expert instructors.
- If “community features” dominate we’ll channel dev time into forum tools, local-network maps and event calendars.
(^1 No traditional studio filming—think screen-share demos, garden walk-throughs, and field interviews recorded on-site.)
In other words: the loudest vote decides where our limited volunteer hours and mentor guidance from the Impact Startup Programm go first.
